Our Christmas traditions this year, 2016!!
The hands down FAVORITE of this year….
I checked out 25 Christmas books (from the library), individually wrapped them in tissue paper, and Ethan gets to open one at bedtime every night!! A new holiday book to read for the 25 nights before Christmas! He slowly stacks them up (adding one per night) then we end up up cuddled in his bed reading more and more books every evening!
And man there are so many great Christmas/Holiday books out there now both classic and new. Gorgeous illustrations. Funny rhymes. Everything from Corduroy Christmas, to Pete the Cat Christmas, to the Polar Express, to the classic Winnie the Pooh, to Llama Llama Christmas…..It’s almost endless! It’s actually been really fun for us too!!
Picking out our real (and local!) Christmas tree the Sunday after Thanksgiving!
The “Jesus Storybook Bible” advent reading plan, the coloring of the picture, and slowly filling up the Christmas tree two ornaments at a time until Christmas!
We are hoping for a quiet Christmas eve and Christmas morning together as a family!! There are so many fun “traditions” families adopt (new jammies, sleeping under the trees, christmas movies, etc) and I love hearing what people chose for their holidays! For us, simple and quiet is kinda nice at this age and season!
