Earlier this week, Evy was sick. The girl has gotten 4 ear infections in the last 6 months and a round of strep. And this time it was the flu (we think).
Something to know about Ethan? Is the one thing his preschool teachers have consistently told us about him for the last year is that he is the FIRST one to help if someone is sick or hurt. That his compassion and concern for other’s well being is very high. Regardless if it’s a close friend, a child, or a teacher, he runs over to help.
Well, this is the first time I saw him care like this, deeply and tenderly for Evy. I mean, he cares for her constantly everyday. But this time it was during her illness (and he oddly wasn’t ill (yet)). As in he asked her if she would like to cuddle and rest with him instead of mommy, and she quickly said yes.
He held the bucket for her.
He brushed her hair out of her eyes and asked for a bow to hold them back.
He shushed me when I tried to ask a question.
He just cared so deeply for her pain.
The only smile I got, was when Ethan leaned down for a kiss. And I asked to take a photo to send to daddy. And I put up my phone for a quick photo. Tired eyes and all.
