Here’s what’s been going on in our heads and saturating our conversations the last few weeks!! I included lots of links in bold for you to check out too! WHOO HOO!! Happy reading!
Ethan’s kindergarten registration packet came in the mail last week. So we’re looking at our options, before and after care, lunch costs, summer care…..so much fun!
Our minds and souls have been aching for the refugee crisis, especially after seeing these photos. We went to Arrive Ministries (our local refugee support and placement organization) and dropped off some new winter coats. Ethan totally told the lady at the desk “these are for people from far away who have to come because of bad guys and they need winter jackets.”
Compassion International’s blog has breathtaking articles that we have been really meditating on. And beautiful videos. YES. Maybe I’ll make a photo book of some of them for the kids. Or maybe I’ll just keep talking to our family about it. Either way it is really impacting how we budget, how we live, and how we pray.
The Art of Neighboring is really nudging both Matt and I to even more live, fully present, in our location we are placed.
I spend my mornings or lunch breaks following along with IF:Gathering and their new 8 week study of church history. And then I toggle over to SheReadsTruth for their free study on Hymns. And then I do some 21-day-fix. (at work or with kids; it’s happening people!). And then I eat my power granola and yogurt and feel ready for the next part of my day like none other!
We are totally stoked for Advent this year with our kids! Christmas itself will be unbelievably simple, but the season will be one filled with anticipation. Can’t wait to show you more!
We have a couple that’s mentoring us once a month, we have a bimonthly life group that brings us into deep conversation and relationships, we have a new small group we lead for new community and use our gifts as leaders, we have friends that inspire us, authors that ground us, and coworkers and patients that move us. Our people are our life right now.
Oh. And we love this time of year!
