Our daughter Evelyn. We call her Evy. But usually we call her Ev. And we often call her Evster. She’s so adorable. Sometimes I just stare at her and smile. And her almost one-and-a-halfness is coming through in the BEST way possible.
BOOKS! Books everywhere. She sits by herself and reads them. She sits by the shelf, or stacks them by the couch and climbs up. We average 12 books before bedtime as well. Her favorite? She LOVES “i spy” books, especially with vehicles.
She is too fun. For a while we did pigtails. Recently we’ve moved to pony tails. And just yesterday she allowed us to keep a clip in her hair to sweep aside her bangs. OH my goodness. I’m so excited for her hair!
She LOVEs to play with Ethan. They stick really close to together. She’ll be very tender with him with hugs and cuddles. She’ll be very aggressive and hit/kick/yell at him when she’s mad. She’ll be silly with him and chase him or be chased just full of giggles. And she’ll contently play right next him.
And I can’t forget the yogurt. She LOVES yogurt. And she insists on feeding herself. The entire thing with a spoon. But then, at the end…she still wants the tiny bit on the bottom the spoon doesn’t get. So she digs in with her hands. And then she figures out that she can smear it on her table, or face, or hair, or arms. We try to be very consistent with teaching manners and respect and “proper” life…..but this is one we give her the joy of childhood. It doesn’t hurt. And she’s just too content.
Remind me to get a close up of the clip and curls. Of her little voice, and her giggles. Of her stack of bedtime books. Of her baby and blanket. Of her playing with planes and cars in the bath. Of her dancing. Remind me because this stage goes so fast and new memories will be made very soon!
