If you’ve lived in the Twin Cities for a length of time, you know exactly where this yellow room is located.
It was a cool spring morning, with kids up at 5am, so we were out of the house early and ventured downtown for a random family activity. The kids LOVED it.
The Yellow tinged windows provide a unique shadow and silhouette with photos. It is REALLY really fun. These are the “classic” photos of this room. You can do all sorts of fun poses and dancing and lifting and such. But just seeing the little ones wander (er, run-dance) through it, was simply artistic without any sort of posing.
And from this high up, you get a wonderful view of the skyline! The floor to ceiling windows, complete with sections of “glass floor” give a weird illusion to the entire place! Look at that view. That is something special.
And my LORDE. Look at the gorgeous mirror reflections on the windows. There is no end to the photographers dream in this little yellow room. These are the photos that take my mind beyond the moment, and enjoy the uniqueness of art.
Ethan of course asked for some camera time as well. I asked him to get a photo of just our “shadows”. He had to back waaaaaaay up and hold it steady with that low light. He NAILED it. Nice work buddy!
And I know the framing was a fluke, but he took a bunch of Evy way up high, and created a very neat illusion with his perspective from low on the floor looking way up!
The reflections are gorgeous. The color makes me happy. And it’s a fabulous place to visit early in the morning when you’re the only one’s up with little children. Watch the sunrise. It’s fabulous.
