We haven’t made it to our local Children’s Museum in over a year, so we decided to check it out with the TWO kids! With just one kid, you do all the “age appropriate” rooms in order as they should be. However with the 2nd kid, she just tags along and really didn’t want much to do with the “baby room” and just did all the big-kid stuff!
So my favorite was this moment. Ethan has started doing more “pretend costume” type play. And since HE on the vest, SHE really wanted one too (ok, so it was a cape on her, but still). I was very surprised how long they lasted in this simple pretend area, it was so encouraging to see that glimpse of the deepening imaginative play of preschoolers!
(the scrunchy smile RETURNED AGAIN!)
Ok. SO many fun rooms. The Eric Carle exhibit was pretty fun because Ethan knew most of the stories!
Ethan’s favorite was probably the “pretend to be an ant”. The tunnels are dark and small, and much more extensive than I figured they’d be, and I’m pretty sure we lost the kids in it several times, but they both loved it!
Aaaannnd finally saved the messiest for the last room. The bubbles. And water. And evidently physics (no buddy, I honestly don’t know which tube to block to get the pressure to change to get the ball way up there, maybe I’ll look it up and do it next year when you’re four).
This family outing. For. The. Win!!
