Yesterday we had our first snow! It started out just a few flurries…..
And then within a matter of hours, we had several inches. Ethan was THRILLED. Evy was, skeptical, but really content to be outside!
After about 30 minutes, I told Ethan I was cold and maybe we could play inside. “It’s Otay mama. My not cold. I can play outside by myself” (and proceded to grab his bike and a shovel and zoom around the yard). Um. Ooookayyy. The Evster wasn’t turning purple yet so we looked at each other, and went for a bike ride. In the slush. In 28 degrees.
By this time. Evy was turning some shades of red and blue, so Matt brought her in. And 15minutes later I told Ethan I was now really cold. “Daddy come outside now and play with me??” was his question. Ohhkayyy. So we swapped. And finally, an hour later at 545pm, we said “Buddy, it’s like totally dark as of 30minutes ago, we gotta come inside”.
And we had the fire all ready to go. A Curious George book waiting for him, and (even though he said he still wasn’t cold), he warmed himself by the fire.
It was a pretty sweet end to a beautiful family afternoon.
