It was 70 degrees, cool breeze, and sunny. We walked into the farmers market, smelling the combo of smoked pork and kettlecorn. We start walking the circle….
This time marked our eighth weekly visit and the vendors now know us well. The lady gives E a bread sample and says hello. We focus on numbers with E tonight…..Ethan reads the numbers “3 honey sticks for $1” and picks them out while we grab a big container of fresh local honey to use for my baking. E picks out the tomatoes he likes and gives them $2. We grab some new BBQ for our pork and make small talk with the local sellers. E picks out the local salsa, samples the humus, gets a maple-syrup sucker, and skips over to the roasted almonds. They are much too hot to eat right now, but he holds on to them until we sit and listen to the music. We sample the peanut butter, grab some pork for the week , and then get some hot pork burgers for our dinner. A quick swing by the kettlecorn rounds out the circle the we head over to the music to sit and listen while we eat.
On our way out, Evy gets to “ride” on Ethan’s shoulders. As we turned towards the parking lot, sunset was perfect and beautiful to ignore……..
