travel. family day photomotion (colorado 2 of 2)

Here is the photomotion photo video from our family day in Colorado!

Now. For those who want more info…..

Let’s start with the obvious. Yes. We traveled with a two-year-old while I was 25 weeks pregnant. No, it was not the same as our vacations 5 years ago. Yes we still got to see and enjoy the area. No we didn’t do long hikes or extensive extra sight-seeing. Yes we stayed at a home instead of a hotel so E could have his own room and toys and we had our own kitchen. No we didn’t try to make everything the same as at home so we deviated from routine quite a bit. Yes we stopped a playgrounds to accommodate our kiddos and we enjoyed the view and had hours of re-charging time as a couple. Yes we will be going again!

IMG_1929 6.jpg 4A HUGE new favorite was discovered on this trip = throwing rocks into streams. And i’ll even admit. Throwing rocks into a mountain stream does have a peaceful quality to it. The drive from Denver to Aspen is 4 hours (well, 6 with a toddler), and is worth every minute. We agree — this is the most beautiful place we’ve seen in our country. You need to do this once in your life.

They had 360 degrees of mountain-views covered in bright-yellow Aspen trees. And they had a huge sand-play area FILLED with construction trucks for kids (and yes, we spent most of our morning there. But you know what. We didn’t mind. Because Matt and I just looked up at the beautiful surrounding and talked about life. It was the best date).

Thank you Colorado for being the perfect trip for us.
