“My biggest regret is shooing my boys out of the kitchen when they were young.”
I recently read this phrase from a fellow mama-blogger, and it made me pause. As someone who loves being in the kitchen, I want to take her advice to heart. My mom constantly had us girls in the kitchen with her, and I credit that choice for my love of baking and cooking.
As Ethan has become older, we have recently tried to incorporate some basic cooking skills with him. (starting out with — “boiling water, yup that’s hot!”, and “nope, flour doesn’t taste so good plain”). So this weekend, we decided to embrace sensory learning in a new way and let Ethan do the heavy-lifting helping us make puppy chow! I know, I know. Powder sugar and a toddler can only equal total
mess fun. But I must say, it was a yummy 10 minutes of family time!
