After our night away, we met up with Christina and Peter (visiting from Colorado!) to hang out with Kyle and Sara at their family’s cabin. We refer to this as “the perfect day”.
Sara and I went for a walk (to put Ethan asleep for his nap) while the others went out canoeing. They came back saying “It’s like we were in the amazon!!” With the river so high, the local islands were submersed underwater creating a beautiful effect.
Soon Ethan woke up from his nap and we enjoyed playing outside and watching the river go by.
The sun was shining. Cool breeze. Low humidity. Birds chirping. Our son cuddling with great friends. It was indeed perfect.
After a quick rest, we all headed out on the pontoon. Within the awesomeness of the day, this was my favorite hour.
The breeze in my hair…..
“Hang on mama, did you bring me a snack? I’m hungry….”
After such an amazing afternoon, the grill called our name and Sara had prepared a feast of delicious food. Hamburgers, brats, salads, fruit….it was the meal meant for us.
But the fun doesn’t stop yet……evening was about to arrive…..
