Until 9 months ago, I had never been to the children’s area at the library (well, >20 years ago I used it as a kid, but not since then). I didn’t even care if a library had a kids area. Now, it’s the first thing I check out. And our county has five local libraries within 20 minutes to our home that all have AWESOME kid areas. There are books, yes. But there are also puppets. And puzzles. And toys. And blocks. And games. And more toys. Who knew?! We can get out of the house and play with new things…and watch new kids….and it’s really been a life-saver when we’ve been cooped up in the house on a cloudy-rainy day. And it’s all free which makes it the best of all.
One of Ethan’s favorites at one of the libraries is the puppet area with the cubby holes. We can play peek-a-boo for a very long time here.
So, do you spend time with kids? If so, check out your local library. You may be surprised at how much they have to offer!
