Last weekend, we spent 2 nights at a gorgeous cabin that our friends generously invited us to use for a weekend. It was 48 hours of peace. The cabin overlooks the St. Croix River and there was a stillness and tranquility that came with this home. It is built on beautiful land, surrounded by gravel roads, majestic trees, and lots of wildlife. It allowed us to rest, relax, hope and dream, and just be together as a family.
Ethan must have known we were on vacation because he slept 12 hours straight (not even a peep) the first night we were there (first time EVER!). We spent our morning walking and talking about life while Ethan took a nap in the stroller. And once he woke up, we took some photos.
We had picture-perfect weather all weekend which allowed Ethan to play outside for the first time and we were so thrilled he loved it! Playing with the dirt and twigs (and learning they don’t taste very good), clapping together a pair of pine-cones, and squealing constantly, he was completely in his element.
The driveway to the cabin was a gravel road lined with beautiful trees. It was a beautiful backdrop as we finished our morning walk.
Stay tuned to see more of our cabin weekend soon….
